Wayne State offers another round of FREE one-month regional bus passes to students
Wayne State is again pleased to partner with the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) and SMART to offer 1,000 FREE one-month Regional and Regional Plus Bus Passes to interested students. Passes are good for unlimited rides all-month and available via DOSO and The W Food Pantry. Both locations will be using the Corq app for check-in.
Even on cold and snowy February days, DDOT and SMART buses are a reliable and affordable option for getting around. DDOT operates buses within the city. SMART operates buses within Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties-including limited-stop FAST buses along key routes such as Woodward Avenue. The Regional Pass gives you access to both DDOT (free) and SMART ($0.50 per ride). The Regional Plus Pass covers the $0.50 charge to ride SMART.
Consider planning a trip using the Transit App or Google Maps, both of which will give you a variety of bus routes, stops and schedules. Wayne State students and employees may be surprised to learn:
Wayne State established WayneRides in 2018 with the goal of increasing Warrior knowledge and use of local mobility options including DDOT and SMART. Programming is coordinated by a student Transportation Ambassador, a position currently held by Kristina Curtiss, and includes events and promotional materials like this helpful guide to riding the bus.
