Placemaking involves transforming often underutilized public spaces into dynamic "community places." It employs a people-centered process and emphasizes promotion of people's health, happiness and well-being, while capitalizing on a local community's assets. Placemaking activities at Wayne State are led by the Office of Economic Development. The office also leads the university's Placemaking Committee and manages our student PlaceMakers.
