Since its founding in 1921, the Detroit Historical Society has been dedicated to ensuring that the history of Southeast Michigan is preserved so that current and future generations of metro Detroiters can better understand the people, places and events that helped shape our lives. The Detroit Historical Society operates two museums in Detroit: Detroit Historical Museum, located just off main campus at Woodward Avenue and Kirby Street, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, located on Belle Isle. From lectures and films to Behind the Scenes tours of Detroit gems such as John King Used and Rare Books and the Boston Edison neighborhood, the Detroit Historical Society connects the dots between the region's past to its present, and makes learning about our shared history fun and relevant. The Deal of the Week for April 7, 2014: Visit four great food trucks at WSU
